Welcome to Sen Lin Hu

Opening Day

Today, the first day of camp was terrific. After all the villagers went through the welcome stations, we did a scavenger hunt to help familiarize ourselves with the counselors and their names. In the first few hours, we learned how to introduce ourselves and answer some questions.

At 6:00 we had a delicious dinner of spareribs, rice, and bok choi. Before we ate, there was a food presentation and we learned how to sing the Sen Lin Hu “Shitang song”. Dinner was very tasty so we sang the thank you song to the kitchen staff all in Chinese! The kitchen staff came out and we cheered for them. It was very fun.

After dinner, we went to watch Hercules in Chinese. We did not have time to watch the whole movie since about half way through it was time for the evening program. We split up by cabins to have our first cabin meeting and to come up with a cabin cheer. We presented our new cheer at the campfire and everyone clapped for us.

After singing the goodnight song we went to bed. Wan An (Good Night)!
